Higher Ground Company (HGC) is registered in Iraq and KRI since 2018, with its main office based in Erbil. It was founded with the goal of helping Iraqi and international NGOs achieve their humanitarian mission goals through the provision of consulting services including human resources development, financial management, legal compliance and project management.
Our team of experts and consultants comprises of highly capable professionals who are well experienced and trained on the humanitarian principles, trauma informed strategies, and conflict sensitive approaches to service provision.

Rachel
Program Coordinator
Rachel joined the team in April 2026 as Program Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration and is originally from the United States. Prior to joining the organization, she worked for several years as an English language teacher in Kurdistan. She is currently pursuing studies in International Law.
Hana
Executive Director
Hana is the Founder and Executive Director for HGC. He started the company after thirteen years of experience serving in many different organizations and NGOs. Hana first started as a freelance consultant in 2018 and later established the consultant company in October 2020. Excellence is one of the foundational values at HGC, and Hana is passionate about teaching the concept of “Excellence” to his colleagues, NGO clients, and company employees. Hana has an outstanding experience in Financial Management, Administrative Management, and Human Resources Development.
Hana holds a bachelor’s degree in English language from Salahaddin University in his hometown of Erbil, Iraq. Hana’s hobbies include playing guitar and chess.
Lawand
Administrative Coordinator
Lawand is a dedicated Administrative Coordinator at HGC Company, joined the team in December 2020. She plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s daily affairs. In her role, Lawand is responsible for various administrative duties, steering the admin department at HGC to the best performance. Lawand’s attention to detail and organizational skills are vital assets that help streamline processes within the company.
As an Administrative Coordinator at HGC Company, Lawand is an integral part of the team, contributing to the company’s success by ensuring that administrative operations run efficiently and effectively. She has an established familiarity with NGOs’ administrative and compliance needs.
